Through leadership and development,
sports and education, Role Models WA provides assistance
to West Australian Indigenous youth who suffer
from poverty, sickness, misfortune or a disconnectedness
from their community.
Leadership, Teamwork and Vision
Leadership, Teamwork and Vision activities will be delivered in structured and incidental way as part of the course design. It is anticipated that the structured activities will include delivery in timetabled weekly Academy sessions at least one hour in duration. The key outcomes of this component will be reinforced through the sports component, student organisation of Academy events, and Academy camps and excursions.
The Academy will establish a representative Girls Committee, which will conduct regular meetings to facilitate the girls’ participation in decision making. The creation of this governance structure will be important in the development of teamwork, leadership and vision.
Local Leadership Program

The important aspect of this program is the training of community leaders to become role models for the young people in the communities, rather than relying on the annual visits to motivate the children of the communities further.

The aim of this program is to ensure sustainability of the program in the long term the program will provide a safer community and healthier lifestyles in the targeted communities.
